Still bad news

China is taking the swine flu very seriously. Although most provinces are open to adoption, Beijing is completely closed and will not allow us to come. There is no estimate as to when they will open. We are trying to adjust and cope with this uncertainty. I will post again when I hear we can leave. Yihui's birthday is May 26. We arranged through a courier to deliver a birthday cake and a birthday message. Not quite the same as being there for her 10th birthday but better than nothing.

More bad news

We heard today that ONLY the Beijing civil affairs office closed down for swine flu. This means the Beijing orphanage cannot allow us to come. No one knows when they will open and allow us to pick up Yihui. Our travel approval did get signed and mailed May 3rd which hopefully means that when they do open up, we can leave immediately.
Thank you everyone for all your kind thoughts. Lets just hope that this passes very quickly so we can go.

Another delay

We heard our TA was not signed Monday April 27th and the director left for the May holidays in China. There are rumors that TA's will not be signed until the swine flu outbreak is over. We will hopefully know more Monday May 4th but no matter what we will not be able to leave May 8th. We will post our travel days when we get them. We are so disappointed.
