It was sunny and hot today but we got out early and went to the Happy Valley Amusement Park. Zoe & Yihui were not tall enough for some of the wild rides but Yihui actually said she wanted to do them! There was a section of mild rides that the girls really enjoyed. They had plenty of areas to beat the heat with sprays and water jets to dodge which they both enjoyed like last time they did them. We spent about 4 hours there and Dad was still smiling as you can see in the picture. We headed home and both girls fell asleep in the taxi and the driver was smiling because both were snoring!
They had a snack and played together and then we went back to the Chinese Children’s store to do art projects. Zoe chose to make a clay pot and Yihui chose to do a picture with the glue. They finally communicated to me that the clay pot needed to dry 1 week and to come back then. We will be leaving Beijing June 26th so I’ll stop by then to see if it is ready. Otherwise I’ll have Helen pick it up and keep it. Zoe will be disappointed if it doesn’t come home.
We ate an early dinner since we didn’t eat much lunch and I hope the girls will settle down early. It is interesting to see them act more and more like sisters. Sometimes they annoy each other and need some space but most of the time they want to dress exactly a like and do the same things. Their food taste is opposite- Yihui continues to pick extremely spicy foods and she prefers vegetables to meat. Zoe likes bland food and meat. Picking meals at home will be a challenge.
